#TGIFC282 — Inspiration Challenge

By | September 18, 2020

Welcome to a new TGIF Challenge! This week, we have the beautiful inspiration challenge below. I absolutely love the soft, subtle pink and green colors against the bold, black background! And who doesn’t love a pretty wreath?

For my project, I used the Arrange A Wreath Bundle. I had stashed it away for the perfect moment, and this was it! The bundle includes the Arrange a Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set and coordinating Wreath Builder Dies (save 10% when purchased together in a bundle.) You can find this super versatile bundle on page 127 of the Annual Catalog, with accents that are perfect for all four seasons.

Arrange A Wreath Bundle – #154109 – $54.00 USD

I selected colors very similar to the inspiration picture, including Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Soft Sea Foam, and Pear Pizzazz. Then, I cut one wreath from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, one from Soft Sea Foam, and one from Shimmery White Cardstock (to watercolor.) I also cut an extra Pear Pizzazz wreath to cut apart and use as accent leaves on the top.

I watercolored the Shimmery White wreath with Soft Sea Foam ink and several Shimmery White small flowers with Calypso Coral ink.

For the larger flowers, I used a watercolor stamping technique and three ink colors including Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Blushing Bride. I inked up half the stamp with one color and half with another, and then used a Water Painter to brush the stamp with water, prior to stamping on Shimmery White Cardstock. I love this effect!

After layering the wreath over a Basic Black Stitched Nested Label Die, I added numerous Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and used a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add sparkle to the flowers.
