Stamping Sunday Blog Hop — Celebrating Good Times

By | October 15, 2023

Welcome to the October Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is celebrating good times! I’m currently focusing on making lots of holiday projects, and so what’s better than celebrating Christmas? Family and friends, beautiful decorations, delicious food and good times … it is truly the most wonderful time of the year.

I designed two projects, a card and a tag, mainly focusing of the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper and Brightest Glow Stamps. I love that paper! I don’t have the coordinating bundle, so I simply fussy cut the Santas and used another sheet in the background. I love the brocade prints, they are perfect for an old fashioned Christmas vibe. And, the Brightest Glow Stamp Set is a classic. It has beautiful font and great sayings.

I also used several die sets to complete the projects, all of which are listed below. In particular, I used the Above It All Dies to cut the mountains and the Forever Forest Dies to cut the trees and stars.

I watercolored Thick Basic White Cardstock for the sky and snow with Night of Navy ink. Then, I used Blending Brushes to randomly add Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, and Pebbled Path ink to Basic White Cardstock and splattered it with water to make my own custom paper to cut the trees. When I was finished, I splattered everything with Wink of Stella.

I cut the stars from Silver Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper and then the sentiment from Pebbled Path Cardstock using a Labels Aglow Die. The silver ribbon is from a great Online Exclusive combo pack that’s perfect for the holidays.

For my next project, I wanted to create a large tag big enough to fit a Santa and some trees. So, I created a custom tag using a Basic Borders Die to cut the curved top and a Tailor Made Tags Die for the reinforcer.

Behind the Santa is an elongated rectangle that I cut with a Deckled Rectangle Die using a partial die-cutting technique. I cut the top of the rectangle by only placing the top cutting plate over three sides of the rectangle, then I repositioned the die lower and repeated the process to cut out the bottom portion.

The Real Red ribbon is from another great combo pack that carried over from last year.

I hope these projects have inspired you. Be sure to check out the other designers’ projects for even more ideas on celebrating good times.
