Hello and welcome to the November Control Freaks Blog Hop. This month, our theme is Thanks and Gratitude. Well, I have A LOT to be thankful for, especially this week, so the theme is just perfect! I imagine that this is going to be a great blog hop, so be sure to follow along by clicking the button at the bottom of this post.
If you’re already following the blog hop, then you just came from Debbie Henderson’s blog. She always comes up with such clever and creative ideas!
This card is very special and near and dear to my heart. I made it for one of my younger sisters who has been dealing with some serious health issues. I won’t go into any details to maintain her privacy, but I can say that in the past few months, I’ve been consumed with worry, and we finally got some encouraging, good news on Monday! I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am. She is EVERYTHING to me — my best friend and confidant. I would literally do anything in the world to help her. I love her so much!!!
To create this card, I used a sneak peek product from the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog called Blessings of Home. This stamp set and the coordinating Flowers of Home Dies were featured during Stampin’ Up!’s big virtual OnStage@Home conference last week. I absolutely love the floral images, which are perfect for coloring, as well as the beautiful accent pieces in the coordinating dies.
I stamped the images on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper multiple times so I could cut and layer them creating a 3D effect. My sister loves purple, so I chose the following ink colors: Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Blushing Bride, and So Saffron, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Those last two colors are my current favs for ANY greenery. I adore them.
In the background, I tore a couple sheets of Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper and adhered them to another sheet of watercolor paper that I had painted and splattered with Blackberry Bliss ink.
All the accent dies are cut from Rose Gold 6″ x 6″ Metallic Paper. It coordinates so beautifully!
Finally, I embossed the sentiment in gold on Basic White Cardstock and then trimmed the lines separately so I could pop them up. Lastly, I added some beautiful Champagne Rhinestones.
I know my sister will probably see this post before she receives the actual card, but she’ll know that it’s in the mail and I promise, the real one is even prettier! Love you! xxx
