Hello, and welcome to the January Control Freaks Blog Hop! This month, our theme is love and friendship. With February right around the corner, that’s just perfect! You may have just come from Cindy Elam’s blog. She’s so creative! Be sure to continue on by clicking the button at the bottom of this post for more loving inspiration. xxxooo
For my projects, I decided to use Pigment Sprinkles! I ADORE the bold, vibrant colors they produce! To me, they just scream passion and love.
For my first card, I used the Breathtaking Bouquet and Perfectly Framed stamp sets (see page 31 of the January to June Mini Catalog.) I seriously LOVE how this card turned out, and it was SO EASY!!!
I started by embossing the background in white on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Tip: Start by rubbing an Embossing Buddy over the paper, then use a Stamparatus to stamp the background a few times to get good coverage, and then heat emboss.
Next, I simply sprinkled the paper with a little Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Pigment Sprinkles and spritzed with clear water. It helps to cut a sheet of paper slightly larger than needed so there’s room to secure it to your work surface with old washi tape. This avoids warping while the paper air dries. Also, I advise going very light with the Pigment Sprinkles. (I actually cover all the holes except one with tape.) A little goes a LONG WAY and I like to keep some white space.
I finished my card by adding some small flowers cut with the In The Tropics Dies, Iridescent Sequins, and beautiful little leaf dies from a great upcoming Sale-A-Bration Coordination product called Birthday Dies (see more about that below.) Finally, I added a Basic Black sentiment to really contrast with all those bright colors.
My next card is birthday card for someone I LOVE very much. She’s also my best friend so it hits both categories!
For this card, I used the Happy Birthday To You Sale-A-Bration stamp set. You can earn this stamp set for FREE from now until March 31, 2020 when you make a qualifying purchase of $50 or more. Additionally, on February 4th, you can order the coordinating Birthday Dies (#153590)! Those die cuts include ones to cut out the whole cake image, the three flowers, the cake stand, and leaves shown here! It’s really an awesome set! If you want it, be sure to order early because it will only be available while supplies last! (Or, you can order it now if you sign up to be a demonstrator!!!)
For this card, I used Shimmery White Cardstock and gold embossing. I sprinkled one little corner with Melon Mambo Pigment Sprinkles and then spritzed with water. While it was drying, I poured a little bit of the Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green sprinkles on an acrylic block and used it with my Aqua Painter to watercolor the flowers and leaves.
Hope my projects inspired you. Be sure to continue on through the rest of the Control Freaks Blog Hop by clicking on the button below. Next up is Connie Babbert. I know you’re going to love her ideas!
Have an awesome Sunday!
