Happy Monday! This week, the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog is featuring the So Hoppy Together stamp set. This is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set that you can earn for free with a $50 purchase through March 31, 2019!!! It’s so cute! You are definitely going to want to check out all the designers’ projects this week.
For my project, I created a fun box that I gave away as a door prize at my Stamp Club last week! I got the idea for this box from my sweet friend Jeanna Bohanon, who created similar boxes for our TGIF Challenges team swap last November. The box is made out of one piece of 12″ x 12″ designer series paper, and it’s simply folded with no tape, very similar to oragami paper folding.
There’s a fun story behind this box. The weekend before my Stamp Club, my son and his girlfriend, Josie, came to visit. Josie is such a sweet girl, and she loves paper crafting!!! So I thought it would be a fun challenge for us to take Jeanna’s box and try to figure out how to make one.
While I was analyzing and measuring Jeanna’s box, Josie simply found a You Tube video on how to make one!!! Clever girl. You can find that video HERE. It’s very clear and straightforward. We simply followed the instructions step-by-step, pausing the video when necessary.
I made two boxes, both with the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper. You can earn this paper for free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase, or get it for free in a bundle with the coordinating Painted Season stamps with a purchase of $100!
I decorated the belly band with the So Hoppy Together stamps and coordinating Hop Around Framelits Dies. I’m sorry to say that the framelits have sold out and are no longer available to purchase. They were a limited-time product available only in March, and apparently they sold out very quickly. But, you can always use good old scissors to cut them out:)
To decorate the belly band, I used Shimmery White Cardstock so I could watercolor all the stamps and elements, including the lily pad and flowers.
Now on to my second box. This time, I used the Painted Seasons and Itty Bitty Greetings stamps to decorate the belly band, as well as a few
Foliage Frame Framelits die cuts.
To create the multi-color flower, I stamped the image with Pool Party ink on Shimmery White cardstock. Then, I squeezed my Petal Pink ink pad to pool ink in the lid, and used an Aqua Painter to add a little pink to the tips of each flower petal.
I love how this turned out! So pretty and feminine.
Here are the initial two boxes that Josie made during our crafting session. She used 12″ x 12″ sheets from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper to create her boxes. (Another Sale-A-Bration product you can earn for free with a $50 purchase in March.) Then, she decorated the belly bands with butterflies cut from the same paper, as well as some coordinating die cuts from Butterfly Beauty Thinlits dies (black leaves), Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and a greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings cut with a Classic Label Punch.
The next morning, Josie asked if she could make more boxes, so I pulled out my stash of retire papers and offered her any she wanted. She made four more boxes!!! Fun, fun, fun!
I know I went WAY off on a tangent here, so in closing I’ll bring us back to the original subject. Hope you get a chance to use the So Hoppy Together stamp set this week and join us at the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog. We would love to see what you can come up with using this darling stamp set!
Have a wonderful and creative day!
