Welcome to a new TGIF Sketch Challenge! I love sketch challenges, because they encourage me to try new layouts!!! For this one, I focused the majority of the card the Countryside Corners Bundle and Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. I love all the blue tones in this suite and knew they would be perfect for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. She loves blue and white!
I also figured that the Countryside Corners die shapes would be perfect for all the layers in this layout. This is a really unique bundle. There is only one main background stamp and multiple dies to cut the various stitching. I love this, because it ensures the stamp holds it’s shape and the dies match up easily. I also love embellishing with stitching.
I stamped the stitching with Craft White ink on Misty Moonlight Cardstock and then used the dies to cut the various layers from the gorgeous designer series paper.
I also added some flower die-cut using the Cheerful Daisies Dies and a sentiment from the March Paper Pumpkin stamps.
To create my flowers, I cut the daisy layers from Basic White Cardstock and watercolored them with Boho Blue and Balmy Blue ink.
I stamped the “happy” with Boho Blue ink on Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut it, and then I embossed the “Mother’s Day” in white on Night of Navy Cardstock and used the smallest Countryside Corners die to cut it out. Tip: Use a ruler to line up the die with the stamped words and then tack down the die with some repositionable tape.
I used some of the leftover stitching from the front of my card for the inside! It perfectly framed my Paper Pumpkin sentiment.
