Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to a new TGIF Sketch Challenge. I decided to break out some fun holiday products and create a Christmas card. I need lots of them, so I’ve got to get cracking!!!
This was actually a super simple card to make! I stamped the Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, Jolly with the Jingle, Jingle, Jingle stamp set. (Like what I did there?)
To easily line up the two-step stamping for the word outline and decorative center, I used a Stamparatus. After securing an oversized layer of Basic White Cardstock to the Stamparatus, I positioned the outline stamp on the paper, picked up the stamp with the plate and stamped four times with Crumb Cake ink using the hinge method. (Stamp, remove the plate and lower it one position, stamp again, and repeat two more times.) Then, I positioned the decorative stamp over the initial image. Since it’s a see-through photopolymer stamp, that’s super easy to do. Next, I closed the plate to pick up the stamp, added Real Red ink and stamped. After moving the plate, I stamped again with Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake and Poppy Parade .
The Santa is from a card in the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack. I simply cut it out with a Stylish Shapes Die. Then, I used another card from the pack, with a candy cane design, behind the stamped layer.
In the background, I used Blending Brushes to add Cherry Cobbler and Real Red ink to a layer of Poppy Parade Cardstock and then dry embossed it with the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder. Then, to finish my card, I layered some wood elements from the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack, Textural Elements, Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise), and Festive Pearls.
