Happy Friday! It’s time for a new TGIF Challenge, and this week it’s a sketch challenge that’s super simple and open for interpretation. I decided to use it to give you a sneak peek of a new bundle coming out in the January-June Mini Catalog! This bundle includes the Simply Succulent Cling Stamps and Potted Succulent Dies (including that gorgeous background die!)
There’s one more subtle sneak peek on this card. I used the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (a free Saleabration item) for the hanging plant dies. The new catalog goes live on January 5, 2021m, and that’s also the beginning of Saleabration when you can earn free products with qualifying purchases.
I stamped the flowers and pot with Stazon ink on Shimmery White Cardstock so I could watercolor them. I wanted the succulents to look as realistic as possible, so I searched for photos and used them as inspiration for the colors. You can see all the ink colors I used in the Supply List below.
The Simply Succulent stamp set has lots of nice sentiments, but I needed to make a birthday card, so I stole the sentiment from the Blossoms In Bloom stamp set. It just happened to fit perfectly into the Potted Succulent tag die cut!
The background die only cuts a negative impression. Therefore, I used it on a layer of Thick Whisper White the exact size of my card front.
For the bow, I realized that if I pulled one strand of the Metallic Ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, I could very easily unravael a whole strip, releasing lots of thin strands. I thought the color looked beautiful with the Terracotta Tile pot.
