#TGIFC284 — Color Challenge

By | October 2, 2020

Happy Friday!!! This week, TGIF Challenges has a color challenge that’s perfect for Halloween including Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Black.

I was in the mood to zone out and just sit and color with my Stampin’ Blends Markers, so I pulled out my Flight of Fancy stamp set.. Does that ever happen to you? I find it very calming, like returning to my childhood. This sweet little witch is super fun to color.

After coloring the witch, I kicked around some ideas for the background. I really wanted to use some Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper, because I thought the bats would make a perfect background, but I didn’t want to fill up the whole card and make it too dark. To me, this witch looks more magical than scary. That’s when I got the idea to cut off the swirls behind the witch’s broom (to make her smaller) and use the swirls to create a lighter background! I really love how this turned out!

I used a Sponge Dauber to add Pumpkin Pie ink to Shimmery White Cardstock and then stamped the swirls over it. Afterwards, I added a bunch of sparkles to both the designer series paper and the stamped background by flicking Wink of Stella all over them. I think it definitely looks very magical now!

The greeting is from the Festive Corners stamp set. I embossed it in white on Basic Black Cardstock and then cut it out with a Stitched Shape Die. Then, I added an Ornate Layers die cut as well.

As a final touch, I added some beautiful Iridescent Pearls and Metallic Mesh Ribbon. More sparkles — yay!!!

I love the way you put the swirls in orange in the background. And, the black lacey thing over that. What is that? Is it a die cut? I really love this card, and wish I celebrated Halloween.
