Hello and welcome to another TGIF Challenge! This week, we have a sketch challenge!!! I love the faux wrap-around look of this layout!
I used the new Prized Peony stamp set for my card! This set is so PRETTY and super fun to color! I actually made it real easy on myself by embossing all the flowers in white. The embossed edges create little barriers for watercoloring, making it super easy to stay in the lines and create water effects.
I started by painting a light wash over the entire flower, and then went back and added little touches of darker color while the paper was still wet. Then, I quickly added a second color. I combined Melon Mambo and Magenta Madness on the pick flowers and Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody on the others for super bright flowers. Afterwards, I cut out all the flowers with the coordinating Peony Dies.
To create the wrap-around, I used a border die from the Peony Dies to cut the scallops.
For just a little more sparkle, I added some Shimmery White Embossing Paste to the background using the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks.
While there are lots of great sentiments included in the Prized Peony stamp set, I really needed to make a birthday card, so I stole a sentiment from the Parcels & Petals stamp set.
For a final touch, I unraveled some Flowers For Every Season Ribbon, using only the white and silver strands, to tie a bow.
