Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Snowfall Accents Puff Paint

By | October 13, 2019

Welcome to the October Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! I’m Tami Hewlett, an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from California, USA, and I’m so happy you could drop by. This month, the blog hop is focusing on a cool new product — Snowfall Accents Puff Paint!!! You can find it on page 19 of the Holiday Catalog. It’s super easy to work with and adds fun texture to your handmade projects. I can hardly wait to see what the other designers do with this product.

For this blog hop, the designers create three projects geared towards Beginner, Casual, and Avid Crafters. That way, there’s inspiration for everyone, no matter your experience and skill level.

Beginner Crafter

I used the Frosted Foliage stamp set for all three of my cards. I love this entire suite of coordinating products and thought it would be a perfect choice to showcase Puff Paint.

I started out by picking a sheet of the beautiful Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) to feature on each one of my three projects. The photographic images are so gorgeous. This first card includes a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ layer.

For my beginner card, I simply stamped the Frosted Foliage image twice on a Whisper White card base with Basic Gray ink. Then, I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor the berries with a little Purple Posy ink. Afterwards, I added the Puff Paint.

Tips: 1) Shake up the Puff Paint well before using. 2) It’s runny, so practice on a piece of scratch paper first. 3) Add dots with the tip of the Puff Paint. 4) Apply heat with a Heat Tool and watch the magic!!!

Casual Crafter

For my next card, I stepped-up the difficulty by adding a little more flair with the Puff Paint and using a few more embellishments.

Similar to my first card, I cut a layer of Feels Like Frost SDSP measuring 5-1/4″ x 2-3/4″, but this time, I positioned the layer horizontally. Then, I added Frosted Frame leaf die cuts from three colors of cardstock, including Highlander Heather, Purple Posy, and Whisper White.

I applied the Puff Paint directly onto the die cuts, so it looks like snow. I also added a line of delicate dots along the bottom of the SDSP layer.

Tip: To create the horizontal line, I hardly squeezed the Puff Paint at all. I simply held the bottle upside down over scratch paper and started making dots. They started out big and thick, but as a made more, they became smaller. That’s when I swiftly moved to the SDSP and created my line!

For additional embellishment, I added some Snowflake Sequins. I think they add a pretty element of sparkle.

Lastly, I embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Gray Cardstock and cut it up as shown.

Avid Crafter

For my last card, I stepped-up the Puff Paint designs, layers, and embellishments even further!

I started with a layer of Feels Like Frost SDSP measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then, I used the Frosted Frames Dies to cut out the large label from the center. Because I layered the larger Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape Frosted Frames detailed die cuts underneath, you don’t see where I cut out the label from the center of the SDSP.

Next, I added the Puff Paint! I created dots on the Whisper White label and embellished the leaves to give the appearance of snow. I also added dots to create berry shapes. Using Puff Paint is fun and very addicting!!!

Afterwards, I embossed the sentiment on Vellum Cardstock, and cut it out with a Stitched Shape circle die. Finally, I added a delicate bow of Silver Metallic Thread and some Snowflake Sequins.

Hope I provided a little inspiration with my Puff Paint projects. Be sure to check out the other designers’ projects for even more ideas!!! (See links below.) Next up is the amazingly talented Jackie Aitken.

Have a wonderful and creative day.

I love the way you’ve used the Puff Paint with this designer paper! The sprinkles of sequins perfectly tops it off!
