Welcome to the March Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is “Cracking Good Times” (fun and Easter rolled into one.) For my projects, I used some new Online Exclusive products! Have you heard of them? It’s a new thing from Stampin’ Up! starting this month; unique products offered online only. I don’t know about you, but I love new things!!! To see all the fun goodies, go to Online Exclusives.
Before I go on, I need to apologize for not posting for a while. I’ll try to make this short … first I got snowed it at my mom’s house in Mammoth for almost two weeks! There was blizzard after blizzard, and the major roads closed, including the northern passes over the Sierra. If fact, some are still closed from avalanches! I ended up having to drive the long way home south. Also, while I was there, I ran down the stairs too fast, slipped in my socks, and fell on my back and hip!!! No broken bones, thankfully, and I am slowly getting better. Ugh, I just don’t bounce back like I used to! Needless to say, it put a damper on my creativity.
Here’s a quick look at two of the Online Exclusive products I used on my cards. They include the Irresistible Blooms Bundle:
… and the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. (I LOVE adding texture to my projects, so this was a must have for me!)
I don’t have any current Easter stamp sets, so I opted for Spring flowers in Easter colors. I’ll just use a retired stamp set from my stash to add a Happy Easter greeting to the inside.
The Irresistible Blooms Bundle coordinates with the Hello, Irresistible 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The paper is gorgeous and I used it in the background of both cards.
For this first card, I layered a panel of Basic White Cardstock over the DSP, cut out with the circle die from Irresistible Blooms Dies. This die cuts out the center only, so it’s great for peek-a-boo cards like this one. After cutting the circle, I dry embossed the layer with one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Afterwards, I wasn’t crazy about the dry embossing on the circle portion. So I cut another set of circles, but this time, I used Paper Snips to cut around the outside. Then, I adhered those circles over the dry embossed ones for a nice, clean look.
I love the flowers in this stamp set. I embossed them in white on Shimmery White Cardstock and then watercolored them with Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, and Daffodil Delight ink. I also watercolored the Basic White leaf die-cuts with Soft Sea Foam ink.
The sentiments on both cards are from the Framed Florets stamp set. They’re generic enough to use for Easter.
For my second card, I used the border die from the Irresistible Blooms Dies and a different Basics 3D Embossing Folder. I cut the border die from the Hello, Irresistible DSP backed with an Adhesive Sheet. That made it easy to adhere and wrap around the top panel.
The Loose Frosted Dots on both cards is another Online Exclusive product that coordinates with the bundle and DSP. I also used some White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, which I cut in half lengthwise for both cards.
The Basics 3D Embossing Folder on the card above reminds me of one of my favorite retired ribbons. I LOVE it!

Hi Tami!
On the first card, how did you “emboss them on white” please? Did you somehow use the flower die to emboss so that the detail comes up as shown on your card? I haven’t yet found anything on the Internet that explains using dies for embossing.
Many thanks,
Priscilla
Hi Priscilla, Thanks for your question. I used the flower stamps in the Irresistible Blooms set to stamp with Versamark ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. Then, I covered the image with white embossing powder and heat set the images. I used the coordinating dies to then cut out the flowers. Hope that helps.
These are beautiful cards!! Will it work without the shimmer paper? How do you make the bows with the ribbons?
Hi Debbie, Thanks!!! You could substitute watercolor paper for the Shimmery White. As for the bows, I learned from Tammy Wilson. She has a video at https://stampspaperscissors.com/2021/06/30/tutorial-video-creating-a-bow/comment-page-1/
Very pretty
Thanks Elizabeth!
Wow what an adventure you have had. Hopefully you are healing quickly from your fall. We have missed your creativity but now we know the story. Beautiful cards.
Awe thanks for the well wishes Mallory. I am finally feeling better! ❤️❤️❤️
