Fancy Friday – Christmas Suite Mash Up

By | October 10, 2022

Our theme for Stampin’ Fancy Friday this month is “Christmas Suite Mash Up.” We are taking Christmas Suites from the JD Mini and Annual Catalogs and using them in creative ways, including mixing and matching with other products. I think this is going to be a super fun month and can’t wait to see all the creative ideas!

To see all the designers’ Christmas Suite Mash Up projects, go the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages. We’d also love to see your creative projects! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

Nothing says Christmas like a beautiful wreath, so I couldn’t resist using the Cottage Wreaths Bundle.

The stamps in this bundle are DistINKtive, which means that they stamp with both light and dark areas for a “photographic” image. They are easy to use, but it’s important to prep your ink pad to get a perfect image. I like to use a plastic spoon to push the ink away from the center of the pad and towards the outside edges. Then, ink up the stamp in the middle and it will pick up just the right amount of ink.

I stamped the wreath with Evening Evergreen ink on Soft Succulent Cardstock and the bow with Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then, I embossed the berries in gold, and for a little more variety, I stamped the two small boughs with two colors of ink – Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. (I used a Sponge Dauber to add the second color.)

For my mash up elements, I added some designer series paper from the Lights Aglow Suite Collection. Don’t you LOVE that bokeh print? I also used some of the Glimmer Specialty Paper from that suite to cut the background wreath and small sprig die-cuts.

My wreath lays on top of a layer of Shimmery White Cardstock that I lighly watercolored with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Then, to mash things up even more, I used some snowflakes and a wooden greeting from the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack. (Love, love, love that pack!) To pull in some of the gold elements from the rest of the card, I used a Sponge Dauber to add some Versamark ink to the bottom of the wood word and then embossed it in gold. As a final touch, I added some Festive Pearls in Soft Succulent and gold and a Linen Thread bow.
