Hello Friends and welcome to the October 2024 Color Fusers Blog Hop. This month, our color combo includes Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Wild Wheat. It’s a combo I never would have thought of myself, but I ended up loving it! It feels very “Fall” with the warm orange and yellow tones. And to my delight, I discovered that there was a sheet of Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Papers (DSP) that featured this very combo. So, it was perfect!
I used the beautiful Encircled In Nature Bundle to create my card. It’s an Online Exclusive that you don’t want to miss. The dies are beautiful for framing artwork such as the Thoughtful Journey DSP.
Most of this card includes die-cut layers. The majority of the work was stamping and coloring the flowers. To do this, I inked up the stamp with Calypso Coral ink and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Wild Wheat ink directly to the photopolymer stamp in the center of the flowers and on the leaves. Next, I gave the stamp a huff and stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Afterwards, I colored the image with Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Markers. I mostly used the light markers, but added a little of the dark markers for shadows.
I also used the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends to add shading to the Calypso Coral leaf die-cuts.
The sentiment is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I needed a Fall-themed birthday card. It’s embossed in gold on Very Vanilla Cardstock and then fussy cut. I layered it over some Very Vanilla 3/4″ Satin Ribbon. That ribbon is soooo smooth and pretty!!!
In the background, I used the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. It’s perfect for Fall projects! My card also includes Wild Wheat colored die-cuts that I cut from another sheet of Thoughtful Journey DSP. Using the DSP this way is an easy trick to get a variety of tones without having to watercolor or blend. Then, behind the flowers, I added some vanilla baker’s twine and accented the card with a few Petal Pink Rainbow Dots.
On the inside of the card, I used another sheet of tThoughtful Journey DSP and added a sentiment from the Encircled In Nature Stamp Set embossed in gold.
I hope this card inspires you to give this color combination a try and check out the Encircled In Nature Bundle!
