Hello and welcome to the May Color Fusers Blog Hop! If you’re just starting out or already following along, thanks for dropping by, and I hope I can inspire you. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find links to continue on through the blog hop for even more creative projects!!!
This month, we have a color combination that includes two of the retiring 2018-2020 In Colors: Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch. These colors will only be available to purchase through June 2nd or while supplies last.
I’ve been looking for an opportunity to start making Father’s Day cards, and this color combination seemed perfect! I broke out a new stamp set (to me) called Best Catch, which is perfect for my husband. He LOVES fishing and goes whenever he has the opportunity. A friend of his takes him out on the Mokelumne River nearby and they always have a great time.
I stamped the images on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Stazon ink and watercolored them, adding one neutral color (Gray Granite) to the trout. I love how the coordinating Catch of The Day Dies cut out the fins to look 3D! This guy is flying right off the card!
I also cut several background dies to watercolor and layer. Then, I threw in some Metallic Thread to look like a fishing line.
This card used several Last Chance retiring products, including the stamps and coordinating dies, as well as the awesome Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder and Country Club Designer Series Paper.
On the inside of the card, I added a little more stamping and watercoloring. This is such a great stamp set. I wish I would have had more opportunities to use it before it retires!
Be sure to continue on through the rest of the Color Fusers Blog Hop. Next up, is the fabulous Melissa Kerman!
