Color Fusers Blog Hop — March 2021

Hello and welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for March! This month, we have a really “cool” color combination of Seaside Spray, Gray Granite and Early Espresso.

When I saw these colors, I immediately thought of designing something masculine and rustic. So, I dug out the Campology stamp set. This is a stamp set that I’ve really admired, but unfortunately it’s been sitting on my shelf for way too long, so it was the perfect opportunity!

My husband and I used to backpack all the time, and the images in this stamp set remind me of our fun adventures in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I stamped the trees and tent on the main panel with Memento ink, and then I stamped the tent again on a scrap piece of cardstock, so I could cut it out and layer it on top.

I used Bending Brushes and all three colors of ink to bring my scene to life and shade the tent. Then, I added stars with a Chalk Marker and filled in the tree trunks with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker. I love how the shading makes it look like there are rock formations behind the trees.

I roughed up the edges of the layers with the edge of my scissors and added some In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, which I had dry embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder for added texture, and some Majestic Mountain die-cut trees.

For the sentiment, I stamped it with Early Espresso ink, trimmed it close and then created a little folded banner with Gray Granite blending on the bottom.
