Color Fusers Blog Hop – January 2022

Hello Friends and Happy New Year! Welcome to the first Color Fusers Blog Hop for 2022. This month, our colors include Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, and Soft Suede. It’s a different color combination that I never would have imagined on my own, but I ended up loving it! That’s the beauty of these monthly challenges.

I decided to choose the Seascape Bundle for my project and created an underwater scene.

I created the watercolored background on Shimmery White Cardstock using Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, and Soft Suede ink. One huge advantage of watercoloring is that you have the flexibility to make colors as light or dark as you want. Since I was going for a softer look, I added lots of water to the Night of Navy and Soft Suede ink for lighter tones.

Then, I used Blushing Bride ink to watercolor the seahorse die-cut. I painted clear water over the entire die-cut first, and then added ink to the left side to create a nice ombre patterrn.

Next, I flicked clear water over the entire background panel to create subtle water spots, and then after it was dry, I stamped the sand with Soft Suede (stamped off twice) and Blushing Bride ink, and then embossed some more sand and the bubbles in white.

I also stamped the seaweed with Mint Macaron ink. To blend with the watercolored background, I inked up the stamp, stamped off once on scratch paper, and then gently spritzed the stamp with water prior to stamping.

This card also includes a little sneak peek of the new Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels from the new January-June Mini Catalog. I love how they reflect the colors on this card.
