Merry Christmas To You All! I hope you’re spending a wonderful day with family.
This year, we are home with my husband’s family. My daughter is here with us (which I cherish every moment!) My son is with his girlfriend’s family, and my mom and sisters are at their respective homes with their families and in-laws. We may not all be together, but we are close in love and spirit!!!
I have a quick post to share today … a card I designed for each of my three adult nephews. Since I wouldn’t be with any of them today, I sent these cards ahead with their Christmas gifts.
I wanted to design a masculine card, and what’s more masculine than plaid and wood, right? The colors are based on the background Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper, including Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, and Cherry Cobbler.
The main layer of this card includes a quick watercolor wash with Night of Navy ink. After the watercolor paper dried, I stamped the trees using Perfectly Plaid stamps and added splatter with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker.
I embossed the front tree in white on watercolor paper and then used my Aqua Painter to add Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce ink. This emboss resist technique provides a beautiful effect. Afterwards, I punched out the tree with the coordinating Pine Tree Punch.
I used the Well Said stamp set to emboss the sentiment in white on the wood design from Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper, and then added a Word Wish die cut from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.
