Hello! I’m Tami Hewlett from California, USA, and today I’m sharing my November Artisan Design Team projects featuring the Storybook Gnomes Suite Collection. This is such a cute and fanciful collection of products. The more I work with them, the more I love them.
Be sure to check out the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page to see all the Artisans’ creative projects featuring this festive collection.

You Gnome Me So Well
I created three cards, focusing on the stamped gnome images and coloring with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I also took advantage of the cute images printed on the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper (DSP).
for all my cards, I stamped the gnomes with Memento ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends. For this first one, I used Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, and Light Naturals Tones. Then, I used Watercolor Pencils from both pencil assortment packs to add shading and depth. For example, I used Early Espresso and Crushed Curry in the hair especially near the hat, and Balmy Blue and Basic Gray on the dress and face. I also used Cajun Craze on the hat.
In the background, I used a Layering Diorama Die to cut some Basic White Cardstock. Then, I tore some Masking Paper to mask out sections so I could add Old Olive and Balmy Blue ink with Blending Brushes for the grass and sky. Afterwards, I added detail on the grass with both Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.
For grass and mushroom die-cuts, I pre-colored Basic White Cardstock in an ombre pattern with Old Olive and Mossy Meadow and Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends Markers.
The Gnome Dies cut out the printed mushrooms from the DSP and then I fussy cut the bird and fox. I also added a layer of Balmy Blue Cardstock dry embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder.
Warm Wishes
For my next card, I focused on the blue tones of the Storybook Gnome DSP. I cut the background from the large snowflake print and then used Blending Brushes to add Pacific Point and Balmy Blue ink. I love how this changes the look of the paper.
This time when I colored the gnome, I really tried to focus on where his lantern would be shining and added soft yellow reflections with So Saffron Stampin’ Blends.
In addition to the gnome, I also stamped the mushroom with Memento ink and colored it with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Similar to the first card, I used Watercolor Pencils (Cajun Craze, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Early Espresso, Basic Black, Night of Navy, Basic Gray and Old Olive) to add shading and definition.
Embellishments include a Wonderful Snowflake and Fine Sparkle Gems.
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year
On the last card, I created a snow scene so I could play with the Snowfall Puff Paint. This stuff is so much fun! Just apply and heat and watch the magic happen!!!
I cut the mountains out of the DSP and added them to a background blended with Balmy Blue ink. I also blended a little bit of Balmy Blue ink onto the snow as well.
Aren’t those deer from the designer series paper sweet?
Hope these cards have inspired you. This is a super cute suite of products and so fun to work with.
Have a wonderful and creative day!
