7 Days of Scrapbooking – Day Five.
My page today features several candid shots from a recent ski trip to Mammoth Mountain with my daughter, mom, youngest sister, and brother-in-law. It also features the Mountain Air stamps and coordinating Majestic Mountains Dies.
Typically, I try to limit scrapbook pages to one or two photos so they aren’t too busy. But more photos can work and I wanted to show an example of things to consider when using multiple photos.
I trimmed one of the photos down and overlapped them to use less space. I also used neutrals in the background to emphasize the colors in the photos and make them the center of attention.
I picked In Good Taste Designer Series Paper for this page. It has been one of my absolute favorites for the past two years. I think I’ve purchased three packs and after all this time, I’m still sorry to see it retire. The wood images work beautifully with almost any project and especially rustic and masculine ones.
This was such a fun weekend! Since my daughter Shannon spent so much time skiing this Winter, she got really good! She dragged me all over that mountain. I don’t think I’ve skied so many runs in years. All I can say is thank goodness I work out regularly!
But the really special moment was when my mom joined us, three generations together. She’s 85 and still going strong, I admire her sooo much!!!
OK, enough reminiscing and back to my page. I stamped the mountains with Sahara Sand ink on Basic White Cardstock for a subtle look. Then, I layered it over mountain die-cuts in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set.
I also used snowflake stamps and die-cuts from the new Season of Chic Bundle! I particularly love the snowflake die-cut that looks like it’s got a little heart in the middle!
