7 Days of Scrapbooking – Day Seven!
My page today features a fun selfie my daughter took of us when we were in Las Vegas. She had traveled there with the LMU Cheer Team to perform during March Madness and I flew out to meet her and watch the team. Unfortunately, right before my plane landed, LMU lost and was out of the tournament. But, we got to spend a great weekend together just the two of us.
This photo was taken at the Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Gardens, one of my favorite places to visit. So I decided to get inspiration from the colors in the photo and go with a botanical theme. I used the gorgeous In Bloom stamps and coordinating Pierced Blooms Dies, as well as the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (all now retired.) It’s so fun to re-visit these beautiful products.
I painted Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper prior to die-cutting the flowers and leaves. I really like this technique, because it allows me to select sections of the paper with interesting designs and lots of color variation. The ink colors I used are listed below in my Supply List.
The other fun thing I did on this page was create a mat/frame from numerous Stitched Rectangle die-cuts. I only had scraps of this paper leftover, so this was a way to create a larger mat and add interest to my page. I LOVE how it turned out!
In addition to the watercolored die-cuts, I also added some Poppy Parade and Sweet Sorbet die-cuts as well as some white accent flowers cut from Pearlescent Specialty Paper. It’s hard to tell in the photos, but the shimmer of this paper add a really pretty quality to this page and breaks up the color.
