Happy Memorial Day! This week the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog is featuring the Timeless Textures stamp set. This is a great stamp set for creating unique backgrounds and textures. It will be retiring in a few days on June 3rd, so I was excited to have another opportunity to play with it!
For my project, I used “something old and something new” by adding some awesome new products from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog (going live on June 4, 2019), including the new Free As A Bird bundle.
To create the background, I used Timeless Textures to stamp with Crumb Cake ink on the Balmy Blue card base. Then, I painted a quick watercolor wash with Balmy Blue ink on a panel of Shimmery White cardstock. After it dried, I stamped the flourish three times with the same color ink.
I love how the Timeless Textures stamps give this project a vintage look.
Now, on to something new. The Free As A Bird stamp set coordinates with the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies. (You can purchase them in a bundle for 10% off!) Those dies include a really fun stitched border die that I used on the top and bottom of the Shimmery White panel. I also used that die to add stitching to the left side of the nested die behind the bird, where I had trimmed down the label.
Next, I stamped the bird, leaves, and flowers with Stazon ink on Shimmery White cardstock and then watercolored them with an Aqua Painter and the following colors of ink: Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, and Pear Pizzazz. After cutting them out with scissors, I attached them with dimensionals to enhance the flow of the background flourishes.
Did you notice the pretty Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim? It’s another preview of a great new product!
Timeless Textures is a classic. It’s a set I’ve used many, many times and will keep forever.
Be sure to click over to the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog and check out the other designers’ projects using the Timeless Textures stamp set. I’d love to see what you can do with these stamps!!!
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

Use this Host Code for all purchases at my online store during the month of May to qualify to receive free exclusive tutorials! For anyone who makes a purchase, I will email you this month’s tutorial. If you place an order between $50.00 and $149.99, I will send you the monthly tutorials for the next year!! The tutorials include step-by-step instructions to create projects using current Stampin’ Up! products. They are exclusive, because you won’t find any of the projects on my blog, any of the other designers’ blogs, or any social media sites.
If SU! had seen your card, I don’t think they would have it retiring. Sometimes there just isn’t enough time to play with stamps…or just not the right stamp to show it off. Oh I just LOVE it!
Thank you so much Diane! Your comments and Elisha’s below mean the world to me.
Be still my heart!! I adore this card! Thank you so much for providing the “how-to’s”! I love, love, love your style!
Elisa, thank you so much for your kind comments! 💕
