This week at What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog, we are featuring the elegant Dashing Deer stamp set. You can find it on page 9 of the Holiday catalog, along with the coordinating Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies. (Purchase them in a bundle and receive 10% off!)
This bundle is one of my favorites, and I’m featuring it on several cards in my Stamp Club projects tonight.
For my card, I used my Aqua Painter to paint a fun background on watercolor paper using Granny Apple Green, Call Me Clover, and Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint. I started by painting the borders with clear water. Then, I dipped the brush into ink pooled in the lids of my ink pads to gradually add color. Lastly, I used the brush to add highlights the natural water designs with the shimmer paint. I love this look!
Next, I roughed up the edges of my watercolor paper with my fingernail, and used a Sponge Dauber to add Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint to the edges. I did the same thing on the Very Vanilla layer beneath.
To stamp the sentiment and border, I used a Sponge Dauber to add shimmer paint directly to my stamps! This technique provides a slightly different result from stamping with ink. It’s a fun and unique way to stretch the use of your shimmer paints.
Layered under the Detailed Deer Gold Glimmer die cut are three Snowfall Thinlits Dies, which I also dabbed with shimmer paint. These thinlits dies are SOO pretty, and they are only available until November 30th or whenever supplies run out! Be sure to order yours today so you don’t miss out. They look beautiful on holiday cards, tags, gifts, etc. They are also perfect for Winter cards after the holidays!
You should see how this card sparkles in real life!
