The Stamping Station – Layers of Love

Welcome to the new Stamping Station Blog Hop! The designers from the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop and the Creation Station Bog Hop have joined together to create a bigger, better group of designers. And, that includes a new name and logo! The name is a fun combination of both groups. We’ll be posting inspirational projects on our blogs and social media on the third Sunday of every month with different themes. This month, our theme is “Layers of Love.” Projects include lovers of layers or projects themed around love.

For my project, I used an upcoming March Online Exclusive – Springtime Scenes Bundle to create a birthday card full of layers.

The Springtime Scenes Bundle really caught my eye when I had a preview of the new Online Exclusives. It includes beautiful stamped images and really unique dies, including several circles with beautiful leaf patterns such as the one on this card. I used Shy Shamrock, Granny Apple Green, and Lemon Lime Twist ink to randomly paint a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and then used it to die-cut the intricate circle and one of the individual leaves. There’s another die in the set that cuts a solid circle, and an outline, that’s perfect for layering behind the intricate leaf circle die-cut. In fact, I didn’t want to waste the outline circle, so I layered that as well!

In the background, I layered some Basic White Cardstock that I dry embossed with the Stone & Vine 3D Embossing Folder. I used a Blending Brush to add a little Lemon Lime Twist ink to the center and then added splatter with a Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blend Marker.

The Springtime Scenes Bundle also includes great coordinating leaf and flower stamps and dies (and darling ladybugs that I’m saving for another project!) I stamped the leaf with Shy Shamrock on Basic White Cardstock and then lightly watercolored it with Shy Shamrock and Lemon Lime Twist ink.

Don’t you love the sweet white flower die-cuts?

I wanted to make a birthday card, so I added a sentiment from the Unbounded Love Bundle die-cut with a coordinating label.

To finish my card, I added some White with Gold 3/8″ Ribbon cut in half lengthwise and tied in a double bow as well as some Iridescent Foil Gems placed in the center of several of the flowers.
