The Stamping Station – Inspired By Texture

By | March 15, 2026

Welcome to the Stamping Station Blog Hop for March! This month, our theme is “Inspired by Texture.” Inspiration could come from nature, fabric, home decor or even embossing folders. Bring on the texture!

For my project, I used the Nature’s Symphony Bundle. It’s a favorite of mine and I really love the large textured leaves. I also added texture with the Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder, and in the background with the small dot die from the Nature’s Symphony Dies. Then, the last bit of texture includes some swirled baker’s twine and Neutral Matte Dots.

My nephew is having a birthday soon, so I asked my sister what were his favorite colors. She said black, gray and navy … a great combination for a guy. I felt challenged because I’m used to using lots of bright colors. Going super neutral is a complete 180! But it was fun!!!

The background includes a layer of Country Woods Designer Series Paper in Basic Gray. Then, I layered some Basic Gray Cardstock over that, that I first die-cut to get a negative image and then dry embossed with the Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder. Over that, I have several die-cut leaves from Smoky Slate Cardstock and Nature Walk Designer Series Paper in Secret Sea. I used a Blending Brush to add Secret Sea ink to the leaves layered in the back (to make the ones in the front pop out a bit more) and the Smoky Slate ones.

Tip: I cut the Smoky Slate leaf die-cut in two to break up the layering so it wouldn’t look so uniform.

The sentiment is from the Fabulous Sayings Stamp Set. I didn’t have any appropriately colored embellishments, so I used a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend Marker to color some white Neutral Matte Dots.

Be sure to continue on through the rest of the blog hop for even more inspiration using texture!
