#TGIFC568 – TGIF Sketch Challenge with Simply Beautiful

By | March 13, 2026

Happy Friday! For this week’s TGIF Challenge, we have the sketch below. The black and white flowers immediately caught my eye. So I thought why not change things up and leave the flowers black and white and only color the background? Mixing things up is a great way to inspire your creativity and I love the results!

For this project, I used the Simply Beautiful Bundle. It’s got lots of beautiful flowers and layering elements. I stamped the images with Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I cut additional leaves and even stamin for layering from Basic White. (Who says you only have to use stamin inside the flowers?)

In the background, I used Blending Brushes to add Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo ink to Basic White Cardstock. Then, I added water splatter for a cool watercolor effect.

For the smaller rectangular layer, I blended Flirty Flamingo ink and then used a Journaling Pen to draw lines and squiggles similar to the challenge sketch.

The final touch was some Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems.

What would you make with this sketch? Check out the TGIF Challenges Blog and see the other designers’ projects and then add yours at the bottom of that post.

Have a wonderful day.
