#TGIFC554 – Color Challenge with Snowflake Kisses

It’s the first Friday of the month, so that means a new TGIF Color Challenge! This month, we have a festive color combo including Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green. Love this! I love any combo with bright, happy colors!

I thought it would be fun to use the Snowflake Kisses Bundle and one of my favorite coloring techniques for the background. I used Blending Brushes to add both Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink to Basic White Cardstock and then splattered the paper with water drops. The drops make beautiful marks in the ink blending. I simply dip the tip of my Water Painter into a bowl of water and tap the barrel over the paper to create the splatter. One trick I’ve learned is not to let my paper get too saturated. So, occasionally I’ll dry the paper with a heat tool to set the water marks. Then, I can add more.

I also roughed up the edges of both background layers with the blade of my Paper Snips.

For the die-cut snowflakes and label, I first cut them from cardstock. Then, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little Versamark ink to the edges and tips so I could add white embossing powder. However, before heat setting, I used my fingers to brush off some of the powder so the white highlights look frosty.

The sentiment is from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set. I just love the font. I stamped it in Real Red and fussy cut it. The inside sentiment is from the Snowflake Kisses stamp set.

To embellish my project, I added some Faceted Snowflakes and Real Red & White Baker’s Twine.
