#TGIFC546 — Sketch Challenge with Happy Place

Happy Friday! It’s time for a new TGIF Challenge and this week, we have a sketch. I love jump starting my projects with a great sketch. For my project today, I made a retirement card for my dear sister!!! She just recently retired from her job as an optometrist and I’m so happy for her. Now she can spend lots of time with her grandchildren (one of her favorite things to do) and more time crafting and doing the things she loves.

I wanted to make a bright, colorful and happy card. So, I picked the Happy Place stamp set. I love the tropical vibe and great sentiments. I stamped the images with three colors, Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, and Darling Duckling, by using Sponge Daubers to add ink directly to the red rubber stamps. After stamping on Basic White Cardstock, I fussy cut the HAPPY letters so I could pop them out with Dimensionals.

In the background, I have a few layers of 2025-2027 In Color Designer Series Paper colored Strawberry Slush and a dry embossed Basic White layer using the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder. That folder includes both a 3D embossing folder and dies!

The flower die-cuts are all cut from Basic White Cardstock using the Happy Hibiscus Dies and then colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers to match the stamped images.

I finished the card front with a Strawberry Slush bow tied with Faux Linen Ribbon that I had cut in half lengthwise.

On the inside of the card, I combined a “Happy” stamp from the Traditional Labels stamp set with “days” from the Happy Place stamp set. I hope she has many, many happy days to come. xxx
