#TGIFC538 – Country Woods Product Challenge

Welcome to a new TGIF Challenge. This week, we are showcasing the FANTASTIC Country Woods Designer Series Paper! It’s one of my all time favorites, because it’s so versatile!!! You can use if for backgrounds, stamping, techniques … the list goes on.

For my card today, I used it in the background, along with a fun technique. I also added a strip of dry embossed Sunflowers that I watercolored and a sentiment using the Blooming Phrases Stamp Set.

In the background, I cut 1/2″ strips of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to create a diagonal design. After cutting the strips, I dragged the sides along a Crumb Cake ink pad to darken them up and remove the white core. Then, to make it easy to adhere the strips, I attached an Adhesive Sheet to a layer of Crumb Cake Cardstock. Afterwards, it was super easy to attach the individual strips and trim!

I used the beautiful new Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder to dry emboss the strip of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and watercolored the raised images with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pool Party, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso ink. Afterwards, I added splatter with a Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker.

Tips on watercoloring the image. 1) Use a fairly dry brush so the embossing doesn’t flatten. 2) Start with lighter colors and then use flicking motions from the center of the petals outward to add darker details.
