#TGIFC488 — Let’s Go Shopping

By | August 30, 2024

Happy Friday! It’s time for a new TGIF Challenge and this week, our theme is “Let’s Go Shopping!” It’s a broad theme that could include any type of shopping. Stampin’ Up! has several market-themed products that could work, or a gift card would also work. I interpreted the theme as grocery shopping, based on the photo below, and picked the Simply Sparkling Bundle (an Online Exclusive.)

The Simply Sparkling Bundle includes a soda can image and lots of fun sentiments and details for decorating. I think it’s super cute since it’s totally different from anything else I own.

I chose a bright and happy color combination of Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Real Red. All the images are stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and watercolored. I stamped the soda can with Stazon ink and watercolored the background first. Then, I used a masking technique to stamp the slices and watercolored them. Lastly, I heat embossed the “Extra Bubbly” in white.

To make the can look more realistic, I die-cut the top and bottom from Silver Foil.

For the fruit, I used the side and corners of my stamp pads to ink the stamps with multiple colors. Then, I filled in the rest of the images with a Water Painter.

The background is also watercolored with Coastal Cabana ink and then dry embossed with the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder.

I felt like I needed some greenery behind the fruit, so I borrowed a die from the Country Flowers Dies. I cut the leaves from watercolor paper I had pre-painted with both Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana ink.

On the inside, I used a strip of Full Of Life Designer Series Paper that had similar colors and a few leftover fruit.
