Hello, and welcome to a new TGIF Challenge! This week, we have a color challenge including Basic Black, Lemon Lolly, and Sweet Sorbet. I have to admit that initially, I was a little stumped. But while I was playing with the June “Welcome Inn” Paper Pumpkin Kit, inspiration hit!!! I love the little vase stamp from that kit and really wanted to use it more. The beauty of Paper Pumpkin is that even when you’re finished with the projects and use up all the supplies, you still have the stamps to use forever!
The Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin Kit coordinates with the Countryside Corners Suite, one of my favorites. I also used the Two-Tone Flora Bundle to create my bouquet.
I stamped the Paper Pumpkin vase with Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut it. (There is a separate add-on to the kit — Welcome Inn Dies (163192), but I hadn’t ordered it yet.) Afterwards, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little Memento ink to the sides and bottom to make the vase appear more rounded.
Then, I used the Countryside Corners Bundle to stamp and die-cut the stitched outline layer. It’s raised by Dimensionals, and idea I got from the kit.
To create the flowers, I inked up the stamp with Sweet Sorbet and then stamped off on scratch paper one to two times to lighten the color. Before stamping on Basic White Cardstock, I spritzed the stamp so the image looks watercolored. After the image dried, I stamped the two-step detail image with full-strength ink.
For the Lemon Lolly flowers, I used a similar stamping method; however, because the ink is so much lighter, I didn’t stamp off.
To create my sentiment, I borrowed a stamp from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. I just love the sentiments in that set!!! The font is lovely. Then, to cut it out, I used a partial die-cutting technique with the second to smallest Countryside Corners Die. I lined up the side of the die with one side of the sentiment, ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine and then repositioned it to match on the other side and ran it through again. The end result is a shortened, perfectly sized label.
In the background of my card, I used the coordinating Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder. I also added some fun Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems in Lemon Lolly, and Classic Matte Dots in black on my vase.
