Happy Friday! This week’s TGIF Challenge focuses on a beautiful and elegant color combination, including Night of Navy, Gold, and Blushing Bride. Ohhh, I absolutely LOVE it! I really played up the gold on my card and I’m so happy with the results.
I designed this card for a good friend who’s going through a really tough time right now. I’m hoping it brightens her spirits a little to know I’m thinking of her. My card features the new Blessings of Home Bundle from the January-June Mini Catalog, as well as the coordinating Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. These stamps are perfect for watercoloring.
I embossed the images in gold on Shimmery White. To add the Gilded Leafing to the flower centers, I used the tip of my liquid glue to carefully place the glue where I wanted it, and then I heat set the glue until it was tacky and pressed it into the Gilded Leafing. I also mixed a little water with the liquid glue and splattered it over the dry embossed background to adhere more Gilded Leafing.
Is it just me, or does Gilded Leafing make everything look better? 🙂
For more gold accents, I added die-cuts from Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. I even tried embossing on it, and it worked!
For an added pop of dimension, I made created an extra layer and cut out the large flower. Then, I very gently curled the petals with a Bone Folder before adhering with Dimensionals.
