Hello and Happy Friday!!! It’s time for a new TGIF Color Challenge!!! This week, we have a beautiful color combination that makes me think of Spring and warm weather, including Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, and Daffodil Delight.
When I initially designed my card, it was before Stampin’ Up! announced the retiring products list. (See links to retiring lists HERE.) Now, I’ve realized that I used a whole bunch on this project. So, I guess it’s a good example of what you can do with a lot of these Last Chance products.
Retiring products include: Sending You Thoughts stamp set (Sale-A-Bration), Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper, Iridescent Sequins, and Mini Library Clips. This was a fun project, because it included some experimenting with Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper. I was playing around with watercoloring it, and it ended up coming out entirely different from how I first envisioned.
The Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Designer Series Paper includes two 12″ x 12″ designs: 1) one full sheet and 2) one sheet that you can cut apart into borders and smaller projects. I chose the full sheet and then snipped out a few sections to layer on my project. I started by watercoloring the shimmery vanilla side with Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight ink. The ink seeped through to the back (white side), and I ended up flipping it over and using the white side, because I liked it better! Afterwards, I used some coordinating Stampin’ Write Markers to flick splatters all over the laser-cut paper.
The background is a layer of Shimmery White Cardstock that I randomly watercolored with Coastal Cabana ink. Then, I used an Aqua Painter and matching re-inker to flick it with splatters. Finally, I embossed the background with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.
