By | January 10, 2021

Hello and welcome to the first Stamping Sunday Blog Hop of 2021!!! I’m Tami Hewlett from Stockton, California, and I’m so happy you could stop by. Today, we are showcasing projects made with our favorite Sale-A-Bration products.

Sale-A-Bration is my favorite time of year. It’s when you can earn FREE products with qualifying purchases of $50 or $100. For all three of my cards, I used my two favorite Sale-A-Bration products, including A Touch of Ink Photopolymer Stamp Set and Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.

For this blog hop, the designers have a choice of either creating 1) three versions of a card for Beginner, Casual, and Avid stampers, or 2) a card and a 3-D project. I picked the first option.

Beginner Stamper:

The Touch of Ink stamp set provides two-step stamping. That means it includes both detailed images and solid images to add color. Because it’s made of see-through photopolymer, it’s super easy to line up the images, and that makes it a perfect for beginners.

I stamped the hummingbird, flowers, and sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then, I inked up the solid hummingbird stamp with Granny Apple Green ink and used a Sponge Dauber to add Bermuda Bay ink directly to the top portion of the stamp prior to stamping on Basic White Cardstock. For the flower, I inked up the stamp with Magenta Madness ink, stamped off once on scrap paper to lighten the image, and then used a Sponge Dauber to apply Blackberry Bliss ink directly onto the center of the flower prior to stamping.

All of my cards also include a layer of Dandy Laser Cut Paper. Just punch it out and layer it on your project. It adds a great “Wow” factor.

Casual Stamper:

To step up the difficulty of my Casual Stamper card, I added some embossing, die-cutting, and a slightly more difficult coloring technique.

This time, I stamped the images with Stazon ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. Then, I inked up the solid butterfly with Granny Apple Green ink on one side and Bermuda Bay ink on the other and used a Sponge Dauber to add Blackberry Bliss ink towards the bottom. Prior to stamping, I used a Water Painter to brush the stamp with water. After stamping the solid image over the detailed image, I realized the Bermuda Bay was not very vibrant, so I picked up a little additional Bermuda Bay ink with my Water Painter and added it to the stamped image.

I used a similar technique to stamp the leaves and then cut them out by hand.

My casual card also includes a sentiment embossed in white and a strip of True Love Designer Series paper, as well as a few Opal Rounds.

Avid Stamper:

To step up the difficulty of my Avid Stamper card, I added watercoloring and splatters.

For this card, I watercolored the image free-hand with Water Painters. I started by painting the area with clear water first and then I added each color of ink allowing some of them to blend and run. When the paper dried, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to flick splatter on the layer.

To step up the sentiment, I cut an extra long strip of True Love Designer Series Paper, curled with a Bone Folder, and folded it under on the right side.
