Hello and welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop hosted by Sara Levin. I’m Tami Hewlett from the USA and this month, our focus is Sale-A-Bration!!! During Sale-A-Bration (from now until February 28, 2022) you can earn FREE products with every qualifying purchase of $50 or $100 USD. There are some really fantastic products to choose from, so I think you’re really going to love all the inspiring ideas the team has for you!

I decided to focus on two of the$100 level products. I was immediately drawn to both, because they are super versatile. Also, since the new Mini Catalog just came out, I knew I was going to make a big purchase, and this was my golden opportunity to earn these higher level products for free:)

The Special Moments photopolymer stamp set includes greetings for just about every occasion. This is a set I’ll end up using A LOT.

The Friendly Hello Bundle includes BOTH the photopolmer stamp set and coordinating designer series paper below. In fact, the stamp set is designed to stamp right on the paper!

Special Moments Stamp Set:

Since the Special Moments Sale-A-Bration stamp set includes only sentiments, I also added some New Horizon Suite products to my card. You can find this suite on pages 42 and 43 of the new Mini.

I needed to make a masculine sympathy card, of which I never seem to have enough of in inventory. The Special Moments stamp set had the perfect sentiment. I stamped it on In Good Taste Designer Series Paper by first inking up the stamp with Versamark ink and then with Early Espresso ink. This allowed me to add some clear embossing powder and give the sentiment a little dimension.

For the rest of the card, I mostly layered New Horizons Designer Series Paper (which I absolutely LOVE!) Then, I stamped the trees twice, once with Soft Succulent and once with Evening Evergreen ink. I also stamped the birds with Misty Moonlight ink and embossed the grass in white on the designer series paper.

The fence is cut from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, and I created the background from an Ombre Gift Bag that I cut up and dry embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

Friendly Hello Bundle:

I love products that coordinate together, so when I saw the Friendly Hello Sale-A-Bration Bundle, which includes both a stamp set AND coordinating designer series paper (DSP), I had to have it. It’s also a great stamp set to color, one of my favorite pastimes.

I stamped the images with Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock and then colored the bird and flowers with the Stampin’ Blends colors listed below. This bird was my third attempt … I had an idea in my mind and it took a little tweaking to get it right. Here are a few tips I learned: I left some areas white and then used a Color Lifter marker to fade into the white areas. Also, I found that the bird looked more “realistic” when I colored by making numerous small, thin lines.

For the flowers, I used Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and for the leaves and stems, I used Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I like to “paint” with the brush end by adding the dark color first and then going over the same area with the light marker and expanding outward.

Behind the bird, I used the coordinating DSP to fussy cut the leaves and die-cut the circle. Then, in the background, I used the Stitched Greenery Die.

My final touch was to add some Brushed Brass Butterflies. This is a darling new embellishment from the January-June Mini.

Sale-A-Bration is my favorite time to buy Stampin’ Up! products, because I love earning free things. Be sure to continue on through the rest of the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for more ideas on what you can do with these products.

Have a wonderful Sunday,

The New Horizons designer paper is so beautiful on its own. But, you’ve definitely taken it up a notch by using elements of it to layer. Plus, you’re so right about Special Moments — love those sentiments. And, your Friendly Hello card is just lovely with its clustered layering.
