Stamping Sunday Blog Hop — Stocking Fillers

By | November 19, 2023

Welcome to the November Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is stocking fillers! Christmas is getting closer, so it’s the perfect time to start making stocking fillers and small gifts for friends and family. These bags could qualify as both; they’re small enough to fit in a stocking or perfect for hand delivery.

My bags have similar designs. but different color combinations. They all feature 2023-2025 In Color Treat Bags and the Merriest Trees Bundle. (I also threw in some decorative die-cuts using the Christmas Classics and Joy of Noel Dies.)

The color combinations include 1) Pebble Path, Gray Granite, and Petal Pink; 2) Wild Wheat, Pecan Pie, and Cherry Cobbler; and 3) Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, and Fresh Freesia. While they aren’t necessarily traditional holiday colors, I think they work and love how they turned out!

I used Blending Brushes to add ink to the edges of my bags, as well as most of the decorative die-cuts.

But the real fun was creating the trees. I cut them from Thick Basic White Cardstock and randomly watercolored them with at least two colors. Then, I added water splatter and white craft ink splatter. (I mixed a little Craft White ink with water on an acrylic block and then used an old Water Painter to tap it over the paper.)

After the ink dried, I added die-cut garlands and stars cut from Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper (an Online Exclusive.) I LOVE that paper for holiday projects, as well as the Gold & Silver 1/8″ Trim Combo Pack, which I used on the tag toppers.

The tags and reinforcers are part of the Merriest Trees Dies (a brilliant idea — thank you Stampin’ Up!) And, all the sentiments are from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set.

Each bag has unique embellishments to match the color combinations. For the bag above, I used a Cherry Cobble Stampin’ Blend Marker to color Loose Holly Sequins.

The ribbons also varied depending on the color combo. You can see a list of supplies below.

Be sure to continue on through the rest of the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for lots of great stocking filler ideas!
