Welcome to the February Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is “Nurture or Nature.” It’s a broad theme that allows our global designers lots of options to celebrate people who nurture, local holidays (including Valentine’s and Mother’s Day), or the beauty of nature. I decided to combine all those ideas and create Valentine’s Day cards for two people who love (and nuture) me the the most using Greatest Journey Bundle (celebrating nature!)

The Greatest Journey Bundle speaks to my heart, because I can use the stamps and coordinating papers to create mountains and wildflower scenes.. Both my husband and mom love the mountains. My husband and I have backpacked all over the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains and my mom actually lives there!

The first card is for my husband. This could literally be him standing on one of the vistas in Yosemite enjoying the “Alpenglow.” It’s one of my favorite times of the day, after a long hike when we are warm and cozy watching the glory of the sunset. I know he’ll appreciate this card.

This card was super simple to make. I used the coordinating Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper for the background. Then, I cut the silhouettes from Garden Green Cardstock with the Greatest Journey Dies. To add a little depth, I used Blending Brushes to add some Evening Evergreen ink to the die-cuts.

Next, I inked up the trees with Garden Green ink and then added some shading directly to the red rubber with a Sponge Dauber and Evening Evergreen ink. Afterwards, I lightly spritzed the stamp and stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock.

I cut the clouds from Shimmery White Cardstock and lightly watercolored them with Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana ink.

The sentiment die-cuts and words are from the Love For You Bundle. I adhered the Melon Mambo Cardstock to an Adhesive Sheet before die-cutting to make it easy to adhere the words.

In the background, I used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and Sahara Sand Cardstock.

I absolutely love the gorgeous Enjoy The Journey DSP! Did you know that you can earn it for FREE with a $50 USD qualifying purchase through the end of this month as a “More To Sale-A-Brate” product? Be sure to use the special item number 164425 when redeeming.

Here’s a look at the inside.

The next card is for my lovely mom!!! I stepped it up with splatter and watercoloring. Mom is a fellow artist and loves mountain wildflowers, so this is just perfect for her.

I cut the background from Enjoy The Journey DSP. To get the most out of this paper, I suggest cutting the sheets into 4″ x 6″ sections. Then, you can make six cards from each sheet. To make the splatter, I added a little Craft White Ink Refill to an acrylic block, mixed it with water, and used a Water Painter to flick it over the paper.

Next, I stamped the flowers with Stazon Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock and used a small Water Painter to watercolor the image with the ink colors noted in the Supply List below.

I love unique die-cuts and the Greatest Journey Dies includes the cool branch die tucked behind the flowers. I cut it from both Melon Mambo and Polished Pink Cardstock.

For the sentiment, I again used the Love For You Dies.

The final touch was some 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds and Pumpkin Pie Twine from the Three Twine Combo that coordinates with the Greatest Journey Bundle.

Wow Tami … I love both of these, but the colours in the card for your Mom are just superb. Orange and Pink are one of my favourite combination, so this one really speaks to me. And your colouring in the flowers is so beautiful. xx Cheryll
