Welcome to the August Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is Joyful Moments & Timeless Treasures. That’s right, we’re celebrating memory keeping including scrapbooks, mini albums, Memories & More, or any other method of documenting precious moments!

I’ve always loved scrapbooking, especially when my kids were small. I have lots of albums, and it brings me so much joy to browse through them or see my kids doing the same. It takes a little effort, but the rewards are huge!!!

Our daughter recently moved to Colorado. I miss her, but she’s so happy!!! So this page is all about her. She has enriched our lives so much since the day she was born, and I love this photo of her. We are about to go on a BIG adventure, a mother/daughter vacation we’ve been planning for almost a year!!! I’m so excited. (More about that when I return!)

The flowers in the photo reminded me of the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle and beautiful coordinating Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP.) So, that’s where I started. I trimmed down a few sheets of the DSP and then added a few die-cuts from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and watercolor paper that I had pre-painted with both Blackberry Bliss and Petunia Pop ink.

I also used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the red rubber of one of the stamps with Blackberry Bliss, Petunia Pop, Mossy Meadow, and Lost Lagoon ink. Afterwards, I gave the stamp a little spritz of water and stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I used a Water Painter to fill in the images.

I love stitching and texture on scrapbook pages. There is a slightly smaller layer over the 12″ x 12″ background that I double stitched on two corners. I also added a few large Deckled Circle die-cut that I embossed with the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder. I think this is a good way to add texture and interest without drawing the eye away from the main focus of the page.

I also added a little strip of Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon and some Shimmer Gems to draw out some of the main colors.

Little details are what makes a page. I stamped some of the splatter under the photo and layers and then added a few extra hand drawn dots with a Petunia Pop Stampin’ Write Marker.

I hadn’t quite decided on a sentiment, when I looked at the stamp set and realized it was staring me in the face! It’s perfect! Underneath, I placed my favorite die in the whole bundle. I simply HAD to use it.
