Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Get Sketchy

By | December 12, 2021

Happy Sunday! Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for December hosted by Sara Levin. This month, we’re doing things a little different! All the designers are getting “sketchy” by creating projects based on the sketch below! How fun!!!

Peaceful Cabin Card:

I’m working on my last few Christmas cards today for my nephews. This first one is perfect for the eldest who grew up in the mountain town of Mammoth Lakes. I used the Peaceful Cabin Bundle.

This card was so easy to make … I only stamped the sentiment. The circles were cut from Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper and either colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers or a Blending Brush. That paper is so pretty, it doesn’t need much else. 🙂

I decided to flip the sketch upside down for this card, so I could see the tops of the trees from the dry embossed Evergreen Forest background.

For the sentiment, I stamped and embossed it with different colors to emphasize the word “Peace” and allow that beautiful dry embossed background to peek through.

Final touches were some trees cut from a Snowy White Velvet Sheet, a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a little loop of Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

Sweet Little Stockings Card:

My next card features the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle and Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper. It’s for the middle nephew and his wife who have a dog and two cats. I think they’ll both appreciate these adorable images.

Again, there was very little stamping involved. I simply cut out the images from the adorable Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper and layered them over die-cut circles from the same paper pack. Then, I used a Blending Brush to add an ombre design behind the kitty with some Pool Party ink.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed it in gold on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a little trick to punch it out with the Label Me Fancy Punch. The punch was slightly too narrow to fit the entire sentiment, so to solve the problem, I trimmed the sentiment down to a narrow strip and then fed the sides through the back of the punch and punched the ends individually right where I wanted them.

I placed all my layers over a dry embossed background created with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.

Final touches were some Decorative Matte Dots and Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

Be sure to continue through the rest of the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! Next up is the fabulous Cheryll Miller! I always enjoy seeing her creative projects!

Happy Holidays and enjoy your Sunday!

Two beautiful cards, Tami! I particularly like the Night of Navy with the Peaceful Place elements. That little touch of color transform an already beautiful paper.
