Welcome to the April Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is “From Little Seeds” including projects that focus on Spring or Fall depending on where you live in the world.
I took the opportunity to use my March Paper Pumpkin Kit, “10 Years of Growth,” to create some alternate projects. Paper Pumpkin is always fun, but my absolute favorite kit of the year is always the March one. That’s when Paper Pumpkin celebrates its anniversary, and the kit is always a special one usually including free stuff! This year was even more special, because it was the 10th anniversary!!! The kit included TWO fantastic stamp sets.
The kit included this stamp set:
As well as this one. I love all the sentiments, but particularly love the vase, flower, and leaf images.
The kit also included printed card bases, envelopes, and die-cuts in beautiful colors to make these cards.
To A Wonderful Mother:
I added some extra supplies from my stash and created three unique cards. Since Mother’s Day is coming up next month, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
For my first card, I embossed the sentiment and leaves in gold on Basic White. Afterwards, I watercolored the leaves with Garden Green and Coastal Cabana ink. I also embossed the pot image in gold on Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. I absolutely love how that turned out!
I fussy cut the window from one of the pre-printed card bases and layered it over a Fresh Freesia card base and dry embossed layer created with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Lastly, I added some Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon and 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.
The colors in these die-cuts are just exquisite!
Sending All Our Love:
My next card features the Radiating Stitches Dies, an Online Exclusive. I layered two of the die-cuts and then created a scalloped border with the circle die-cuts. I thought the gold embossing and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper really paired well with the gold foil on the pre-printed card bases.
I really enjoyed playing with all the leaf and pot die-cuts from the kit. The little dry embossed white pots are my favorite. To make this one stand out, I added a bit of Fresh Freesia watercoloring to the background layer.
I used various die sets from my stash to cut out the sentiments. The first and third cards use the Something Fancy Dies, and the second card uses the Fragrant Flowers Dies. (I used a partial die-cutting technique to shorten the width of the die shape.)
Happy Mother’s Day:
For my last card, I wanted to focus on the pretty flower stamp. I embossed it in gold and then watercolored it with Polished Pink, Garden Green, and Coastal Cabana ink. I also watercolored the background with Fresh Freesia and used a Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Marker to flick splatter.
I love stamp sets, where I can build my own sentiments. These two are staying in my stash forever!
