Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – CASE & Switch

By | July 20, 2025

Welcome to the July 2025 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. We have another fun theme this month! The designers are picking a favorite project from the Annual Catalog for inspiration, and then switching it up by designing a completely different type of project. So for example, I found a card on the cover (lower right) but my challenge was to make anything but a card. So, I decided to make a party banner for my daughter’s engagement party!

This banner is BIG … over 6 feet long, so it was really hard to get a full-sized photo. I had to lay it out on my dining room floor! I don’t think the big photo does it much justice.

Here’s a closer look. My daughter picked the colors and I think it turned out quite elegant. She wanted vanilla, gold, and solf greens. I had to look through my stash of retired ribbons (and I have A LOT), but I found the perfect ones!

The banner is two-sided as it will hang between two pillars. I dry embossed the smaller layer and Very Vanilla letters with the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder.

I cut the smaller banners from Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper. Then, I staggered the letters over Gold Foil ones.

The leaves are die-cut using the Beautiful Motifs and Thankful Gardens Dies. I pre-painted Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Garden Green, Old Olive, and Soft Sea Foam ink.

Here are a few hints if you’d like to make a banner of your own. I found it easier to mark my holes with a ruler after I had adhered my main layers and then used a 1/8″ hold punch to go through all the layers at once. Then, I used the Party Banner Dies to cut all the hole reinforcers and added three small dots of liquid glue to each one. I let them all dry until they were tacky and then I adhered them. This makes it so easy to adjust those teeny tiny circles to the right place.

I used a similar method to adhere all the ferns and leaves. That way, it’s very neat with no oozing glue.
