Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Brightly Gleaming Suite

By | November 10, 2019

Hello, and welcome to the November Stamping Sunday Blog Hop hosted by Sara Levin! I’m Tami Hewlett from Central California, and I’m so glad you stopped by today.

This month, the theme of the blog hop is the Brightly Gleaming Suite of products starting on page 30 of the Holiday Catalog. I decided to focus on the gorgeous Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) with it’s copper foil accents!

The challenge for this blog hop is to create three cards geared towards Beginner, Casual, and Avid Crafters. (Or, I could have decided to make a card and a 3D project.) I used a different sheet of the Brightly Gleaming SDSP with each card.

Beginner Crafter

For my first card, I focused on simple stamping. I used the Tidings All Around stamp set to stamp a wreath with Mossy Meadow ink and berries wth Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I love this stamp set, because it looks like you did a lot of work, when it’s actually quite simple. I didn’t even worry about lining up the berries.

I’m really in love with Delicata Metallic inks! The glimmer from these ink pads adds a beautiful, elegance look to my projects. (The photo doesn’t do it justice.) Unfortunately, Stampin’ Up! will be discontinuing all three metallic colors when the current inventory runs out, so be sure to order yours ASAP!

I added a few additional products from the Brightly Gleaming Suite to finish off my beginner card, including some Very Vanilla/Copper 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon (no need for a sentiment with this ribbon) and Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements.

Casual Crafter

For my next card, I stepped up the difficulty by adding watercoloring and die cuts. I used the All-Around Wreath Dies to cut out a stamped wreath (similar to the beginner card), but then I added two additional layers on top, including one cut from Pretty Peacock Cardstock, to coordinate with the Brightly Gleaming SDSP background, and one cut from Shimmery White Cardstock.

I watercolored the background using a drop of Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink Refill, and then used Pretty Peacock ink to watercolor the Shimmery White wreath die. Afterwards, I added multiple copper elements, including die cuts and stamped images using Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink.

Avid Crafter

For my avid crafter card, I stepped up the difficulty even more by adding more die cuts, background stamping, and a fancy bow.

This time, I watercolored the Shimmery White wreath die cut with two colors, including Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy ink to coordinate with the Brightly Gleaming SDSP in the background.

Then, for a fuller wreath, I used Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink to stamp multiple sprigs in the background. I also splattered both the Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy wreath die cuts with copper.

It was a little challenging to make the Merry Christmas die cuts lay flat along the top of the wreath for this card and the previous one. To accomplish that, I adhered the ends of the wreath with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, but then I realized I needed some support in the center so the words wouldn’t sag inward. To remedy this, I rolled glue dots into little balls and stacked them on top of each other. That created a nice support that was small enough to hide underneath.

My fancy bow includes loops of Linen Thread tied together with 1/4″ Copper Trim and topped with some Star Designer Elements.

Hope you enjoyed my projects. Please continue on through the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for lots of inspiring projects using the Brightly Gleaming Suite. See the participant list below for links.

All three cards are beautiful but, I must say the casual and avid are my favorite with the Pretty Peacock and copper accents. Just yummy!!
