Stampin’ Fancy Friday – Sketch Challenge

By | December 11, 2025

This month, our Stampin’ Fancy Friday theme is a sketch! I love a good sketch to get my creative juices flowing. I decided to make a last minute Christmas card using the Ornamental Christmas Bundle. It’s a beautiful bundle with gorgeous coordinating Modern Christmas Designer Series Paper that’s printed in dramatic black, white, and gold.

To see all the designers’ projects using this month’s theme, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

I decided to take one of the black and white sheets from the Modern Christmas DSP pack and create my own custom design plaid by using Stampin’ Blends Markers to draw fat and thin lines. I admit that I used a ruler, but I’ve seen this technique done freehand as well, and it turns out really cool looking. I used Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, and Real Red Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I embossed the tree in the foreground in gold on Basic White Cardstock and then watercolored it with Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green ink. Behind that, I stamped two thinner trees with the same colors. I decorated my tree with Real Red & White Peppermints. I thought the Real Red in those embellishments, as well as the thin lines in the plaid, helped to coordinate with the bright Real Red sentiment.

I cut the Textured Notes die-cut from the light side of Granny Apple Green Cardstock and blended it with the same color for an ombre look. Then, I added splatter with a Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blend Marker and a Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush.

I love the gold & white twine that coordinates with this suite! It’s sooo pretty.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
