This month, our Stampin’ Fancy Friday theme is a sketch challenge! I love a great sketch and specifically love the circle in this one. It immediately made me think of the circle stamp in the Elements of Text Stamp Set. With that in mind, I decided to decorate with the Textured Notes Bundle as well as elements from the Botanical Textures mega suite. I’m obsessed!!!
To see all the designers’ projects, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the month. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

I started by stamping the circle from the Elements of Text Stamp Set with Stazon ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I painted a quick wash with Balmy Blue ink and added splatter with the two stamps from that same set. However, because I was stamping on watercolor paper, I inked up the splatter stamps and gave them a little spritz of water before stamping. That way, they stamped better on the textured watercolor paper and looked like watercolor splatter. After the paper dried, I used the Textured Notes Dies to cut it out the background layer.

For the leaves, I fussy cut two from the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper after coloring them with Old Olive, Garden Green, and Granny Apple Green watercolor pencils. For the other two, I pre-painted watercolor paper with Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow ink. Then, I cut them out with Textured Floral Dies. I thought the style of leaves coordinated well with the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper.

I embossed the Textured Notes sentiment in white on Early Espresso Cardstock and fussy cut it and layered it over a die-cut of Woven Textures Designer Series Paper. I LOVE that paper!!! There’s another sheet in the background as well. It’s printed with photographic imagery and looks fabulous!

The final touch was a little Linen Thread and a few Neutral Matte Dots.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
