Stampin’ Fancy Friday – Scrapbook Challenge

By | May 17, 2025

This month, Stampin’ Fancy Friday has a scrapbook challenge! This was exactly the motivation I needed to start creating some pages from my amazing trip to France and London with my daughter last summer. The trip was truly the opportunity and experience of a lifetime. To spend over two weeks with my adult daughter was priceless. And going through the process of selecting the photos and thinking about what to write brought back all the happy memories.

To see all the designers’ projects, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the month. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

Both Shannon and I love wine tasting, especially learning about all the different types, soils, and blends. Since France is known for its amazing wines, we purposely selected places to visit near great wineries. Our hotel in Bordeaux was not only a gorgeous spa, but had bikes we could ride around the vineyards and several amazing restaurants. So I thought a wine tasting themed page would be a perfect start.

Considering my theme and photos, I decided that the Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection would work perfectly for my page. The Beautiful Motifs Dies, Damask Designs Embossing Folder, and Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper all look very french. My color combination is very soft and includes Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Petal Pink, and Basic Black.

Just for fun, I got a french version of the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and I realized that I could create a fun french title for my page. Vin Extraordinaire means extraordinary wine. The large letters are from the Party Alphabet Dies. After die-cutting them from Petal Pink Cardstock, I dry embossed them with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder.

I used that same embossing folder to create a subtle strip of dry embossed cardstock along the right edge of the page. The texture looks so elegant but doesn’t distract from the main photos.

I stamped the large flowers with Memento ink on Basic Beige Cardstock and then colored them with Petal Pink and a light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I love the way some of the Beautiful Motifs Dies only create partial die-cuts. So I cut extra large mats for a couple of the photos and the die-cuts as photo corners.

Usually, I try to limit my scrapbook pages to two or three photos, but I felt like these four photos really told the story. So I decided to mat the main photo with Petal Pink Cardstock to make at least one of them stand out.

I hope this page inspires you to grab some of your favorite photos and document a great memory. It’s definitely worth the effort.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
