Stampin’ Fancy Friday — Holly Jolly Christmas

By | November 20, 2025

This month, our Stampin’ Fancy Friday theme is “Holly Jolly Christmas.” All the designers are creating holiday cards. For my card, I decided to use the Traditions Of Christmas Suite Collection. It’s one of my favorites from the SD Mini Catalog, and I was so excited to use it again after taking Stampin’ Up!’s Traditions Of Christmas online class on October 23rd. I came away from that class with so many great ideas and tips!

To see all the designers’ projects using this month’s theme, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

First, let’s talk about my color choices. This card is very non-traditional, not my usual style. But, I think it’s so FUN! Here’s how it all came about. I’ve slowly been collecting different colors of two-tone cardstock and my latest purchase was Bubble Bath. I have to admit that it’s not a color I use a lot, but I was watching a video on Stampin’ Through The Catalog and Kaitlyn mentioned that she loves the light side of the paper to brighten up projects, so I thought I’d give it a try. With that in mind, I used my Color Wheel to come up with a color palette of Bubble Bath and Cherry Cobbler for the flowers, which worked well considering some of the Traditions Of Christmas Designer Series Paper includes Cherry Cobbler. Then, for the greens, I chose Soft Sea Foam (another Subtle that I knew would work well with Bubble Bath) and Mossy Meadow (a color buddy of Soft Sea Foam.) Then, of course, I had to add gold because it’s a Christmas card!

I stamped the floral image with Stazon ink on Basic White Cardstock and watercolored it. Tip: I like to start by painting a light coat of color and then go back and add darker highlights as the paper dries. I also like to paint in small sections since Basic White Cardstock dries quickly.

I die-cut the Soft Sea Foam leaf and then added Soft Sea Foam ink with a Blending Brush. Afterward, I added water splatter and dabbed with a paper towel. Then, I used a Sponge Dauber to add Versamark ink to the edges of the leaves and heat embossed in gold.

For the background, I added Bubble Bath ink to the edges of the light side of the top layer of Bubble Bath Two-Tone Cardstock. Then, I dry embossed it with the Traditional Wreath Embossing Folder, added Wink Of Stella splatter, and dragged the edges along a Versamark ink pad so I could add gold heat embossing.

To embellish the card, I used some Traditional Sparkling Sequins and retired Twisted Gold Thread. The sentiments on the front and inside of the card are from the Traditional Labels Bundle. I felt like all the gold embellishments made this card seem more like a Christmas card.

I hope this card inspires you to check out this beautiful suite of products!
