This month, our Stampin’ Fancy Friday theme is “Going Dotty.” You’ll find all sorts of inspiration using products or techniques with dots. I think you’re going to be amazed at the variety. This is going to be so much fun!
To see all the designers’ projects, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the month. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

For my project, I decided to use the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper with its pretty bokeh dot prints. You can find it in the JA Mini Catalog, and I was immediately drawn to it because of the soft, almost watercolored look of the design. I couldn’t choose a color, so I used five different sheets on my slimline card.
Since our theme is dots, I wanted to emphasize them and really make a few stand out. To accomplish that, I created a mask with a couple sizes of circles using the Round We Go Dies and applied Craft White ink with a Sponge Dauber.

Once I completed the background, I used the Textured Floral Stamps and Dies to decorate the card. I used one of my favorite stamping techniques to create flowers that look watercolored. (It’s so easy and looks super artistic!) I inked up the flower with Fresh Freesia ink, stamped off twice on scratch paper to lighten the color, then used a Sponge Dauber to add Berry Burst ink directly to the center of the stamp, gave the stamp a liberal spritz with water, and finally stamped on Basic White Cardstock. Depending on the amount of water spritzed, the image comes out different every time! It’s super fun!!!

The Textured Floral die-cuts in Basic White were the perfect accent.
I used the Everyday Greetings Stamp Set to heat emboss the sentiment on Basic Black Cardstock and then cut it out with a Spotlight On Nature die that also has a few dots! I realized that I needed to back that die-cut with a Basic White circle for the dots and dashes to show, so I added a Stylish Shapes die-cut to the back.

A few white sequins helped to emphasize the bokeh dots as well.

Here’s a quick peek of the card inside. I’ll wait to add a sentiment when I decide who to send it to.

I hope this card inspires you to look for dotty images in your stash!
