Stampin’ Fancy Friday – For My Love

Our January Stampin’ Fancy Friday theme is “For My Love.” We’re creating projects to give to someone we love for any occasion. I decided to use the 12 Days Of Crafting Advent Calendar. I bought one for both my mom and I for Christmas and we opened them together and watched the Stampin’ Up! videos giving inspirational ideas for all the products included. And, there were A LOT of products in that calendar, including designer series paper, a couple of die-cut sets, ephemera pieces, baker’s twine, loose gems, liquid glitter, laser cuts, and more!!! I was so excited after opening everything that I just HAD to make something, and who better to make it for than my sweet mom?

One of the inspirational projects on the Stampin’ Up! videos included a shaker card made from a clear envelope. I mean, WHAT A GREAT IDEA! And, it’s so simple. Just stick a layer of the designer series paper in the envelope, add some of the loose gems, and seal it up. Then. adhere it to the front of the card base. I have to admit that this card measures 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ to accommodate for the clear envelope. But, that’s OK, I can either had deliver it or stick it in a larger envelope.

I used the Party Banner Dies to cut the front banner. In order to lengthen the banner, I cut a strip of paper first and then used the die to cut the bottom portion. Simply line up the die and then place the cutting plate only over the portion you want to cut.

I added a strip of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock next to the banner and placed drops of liquid glitter on it. These take a while to dry, so plan ahead and leave them overnight.

In the center, I blended some Flirty Flamingo ink on one of the laser cuts and also added some splatter with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend Marker. Then, I stamped some of the hearts and used some of the ephemera ones as well.

The two sentiments on the front and inside are from the matching 12 Days Of Crafting Advent Calendar Stamp Set. It has tons of great, everyday sentiments.
