Stampin’ Fancy Friday — CASE a Fancy Friend

By | May 16, 2024

For this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday, our theme is CASE a Fancy Friend! CASE means Copy And Share Everything. So in other words, pick a project you really admire, copy certain elements that inspire you, and add your own twist or style to make it different. We have this challenge once a year and I find it really hard! There are so many amazing designers in the Fancy Friday group, it’s hard to pick just one; and then, it’s hard to pick just one project to CASE.

To see all the designers’ projects, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the month. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

For my card, I cheated a little and CASED two designers! First, I CASED Karen Hadler — Stamping Bees card featuring the Layers of Beauty Bundle below. I love her bright beautiful flowers with the subtle, thin border.

I also CASED Elizabeth Price’s technique of Stamp, Cut Apart, Rearrange, & Mount. She posted this technique last month for our Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge, and I love the simplicity of the technique, with the stunning results. I felt compelled to try it myself. Elizabeth’s card features the Enduring Beauty Bundle.

For my card, I used the Stippled Roses Stamp Set and coordinating Stippled Roses Dies. I started out by stamping the multiple flower and single flower images numerous times with Stazon ink on Basic White Cardstock and watercoloring them. My mother-in-law loves pink, so I chose colors she’d love. I came up with a color combination of Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, and Pretty In Pink for the roses and Old Olive and Granny Apple Green for the leaves.

Once I finished painting, I cut the images up to rearrange and layer. I also added some solid die-cuts from Basic White to break up the floral images, similar to Karen Hadler’s card.

I stamped the sentiment on a Spotlight On Nature die-cut and added a few coordinating sequins.

In the background, I used a Basics 3D Embossing Folder. I didn’t realize at the time that this Online Exclusive product had retired.

The card still seemed to need something … a little more pink, so I cut some Pretty In Pink ribbon in half lengthwise and tied a fancy triple bow. That did the trick!

On the inside, I used a few leftover elements.

I hope this card inspires you and feel free to CASE and add your personal touch!

Have a wonderful and creative day.
