Stampin’ Fancy Friday — CASE a Fancy Friend

By | July 15, 2023

For this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday, our theme is to CASE a fancy friend. I love this challenge, but it’s also a little intimidating. The entire design team is made up of artisan alumni! So it was not only difficult to pick just one person, but also difficult to pick just one project! I ended up selecting another US artisan, Elizabeth Price. I’ve always admired her work and love her creativity.

To see all the designers’ projects this month, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our monthly theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!

CASE means Copy And Share Everything. So in other words, pick a project you admire, then select anything about the project you love, whether it’s the layout, colors, stamps, dies, theme, etc., and create your own version. Elizabeth’s project is pictured below. You can find all the details on her Instagram Page @seeinginkspots.

I love wreaths during any season, and I particularly love Elizabeth’s layout with a partial wreath. The vibrant Spring colors also really captured my eye.

For my card, I decided to use the Natural Prints Dies for the wreath. I cut two layers from watercolor paper that I had pre-painted with Lost Lagoon and Soft Sea Foam ink. This die set also includes smaller individual pieces that I used to thicken up the wreath.

Next, I used the Timeless Arrangements Bundle (stamps and dies) to stamp the berries with Fresh Freesia and cut out the flowers and berry die-cuts. I thought the subtle colors gave the card a light, Summery look.

I noticed how Elizabeth kept the wreath shape very distinct by keeping all the green tones in the half-circle, so I attempted to do the same and only added the other colors along the outsides.

Next, I added some Pebbled Path splatter with a Stampin’ Write Marker. I also decided to rough up the edges of my background layers for some added interest.

As a final touch, I added some Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems and Silver Simply Elegant Trim, as well as a silver embossed sentiment from the Go To Greetings.

Thanks again to Elizabeth for her gorgeous inspiration.

Have a wonderful and creative day.
